Who Am I?

I am Noel Blanco, DO, and I am starting this summer as an intern in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Geisinger Medical Center.

I graduated medical school at AT Still University.  Because I earned the Health Professional Scholarship Program in the US Army, I provided soldiers, family members, and veterans medical care for almost 6 years, which consisted of my intern year, my time as a Field Surgeon, a rotation near the Demilitarized Zone in Korea, and as a Flight Surgeon.  After ETS (end of terminal service), my patients were detainees as I held the position of medical director of a correctional facility.

For my medical interest, there are so many interesting topics in PM&R, such that I plan to keep my eyes open.  I do have an interest in Sports and Traumatic Brain Injuries.  I obtain credentials in dry needling and practices osteopathic manipulation treatment. Two articles have been published by me in running and yoga.

In regards to my personal interests, I competed in American Ninja Warrior season 10 in Dallas, but only advanced to the 2nd obstacle.  Yet, I train daily for the next challenge: 5ks, obstacle course races, half marathons, trail races, duathlons, etc. My favorite sport of all time is surfing.  I meditate daily with my practice of yoga.

Lastly, I have a loving wife and a joyous son and a playful fur baby (dog).
